Your first beautiful racket.

From a single note to a loop you can keep.

Brasshas been briefed on this bit.

Meet your workshop

Tonkro is a music workstation for iPad, designed for landscape. Start with the iPad volume low and turn it up gradually.

Play makes and shapes sound. Record catches performances on eight tracks. Arrange edits your parts. Mix brings them together. The browser demo is a small taste, not the complete iPad instrument.

Follow the first-loop coach

  1. Open Help and choose BUILD YOUR FIRST LOOP. A small coach follows your progress through the real instrument.
  2. Choose a sound, then play a keyboard key or drum pad. Connected MIDI notes count too.
  3. Change a sound control. Try the Envelope page: shorten Attack for a quick start, or lengthen Release for a tail after you let go.
  4. Open the Sequencer Arcade. Pattern is a friendly place to begin: choose a starter beat, then switch steps on or off.
  5. Select the track you want to record into. Open Record and use Performance Print to commit your phrase. Stop when you have the part you want.
  6. Open Mix, listen to the result, and export the stereo loop. Use the share sheet to save it to Files or another destination.

Keep the session, too

An audio export is something you can listen to. A project bundle is something you can continue editing. Use the file menu’s Save project, then Export project bundle to keep a portable copy with samples and recorded takes. Autosave is useful, but it is not your only backup.

Stuck? Tell the repair bench what happened. Include the page and control name so we can follow your footsteps.
