RECORD + ARRANGE / TONKRO 1.0 GUIDE / 13 SEPTEMBER 2026

Catch it. Cut it. Keep it.

Tracks, tape edits, project saves, and a sensible escape hatch.

Spoolhas been briefed on this bit.

Before the red button

Select the destination track and confirm the recording source: instrument, microphone, USB input, or internal resampling. Watch the input and output state. Use headphones when monitoring a microphone to avoid a feedback loop.

Check the loop boundaries, count-in, and recording mode before starting. Normal, Overdub, One Loop, and Punch serve different jobs. Run a short test take before an important performance.

Edit the phrase

Split divides a region. Lift carries material away; Drop places it. Join brings compatible pieces together. Use the arrangement and loop controls to position your musical parts. Undo is your friend when an edit is not the one you wanted.

Tape speed and reverse are creative sound changes, not invisible timing corrections. Listen after editing and check the result at the intended playback speed.

Save versus export

Save project preserves the working session. Export project bundle includes the project and its samples and recorded takes for backup or transfer. A stereo export is a rendered performance; it does not replace an editable project backup.

Store a bundle outside the app before resets, device changes, or deletion. Files destinations may be local or cloud-backed depending on the location you choose. Tonkro does not provide its own cloud sync.

A safe project appeared

Tonkro may open a clean safe project if it cannot safely load an autosave. Do not assume the old recordings are gone. The recovery screen explains what was preserved and offers a recovery package when available. Keep that package and contact support before deleting the app or resetting anything.

Stuck? Tell the repair bench what happened. Include the page and control name so we can follow your footsteps.
